H.L. Bryles
H. L. Bryles, 74, of Little Rock died Oct. 10.
H.L. was born April 16, 1933, at Hickory Plains.
Upon graduation from Beebe High School, he served in the Air Force before attending the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1957.
He was the first Arkansas employee hired by Daisy Manufacturing Company in its relocation to Rogers in 1958 where he started his career as an assistant personnel director.
The friendships developed among the newly relocated Daisy family were particularly important to Bryles.
He retired from Daisy Manufacturing after 31 years with the company as its vice president and operations manager as well as a member of its board of directors.
He loved the community of Rogers, where he was active in the community, a dedicated golfer and enjoyed boating on Beaver Lake.
He was a former Rogers City Council member, a president of the Rogers/Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce, a two time president of the Rogers Lions Club, and a past member of the Rogers Water Commission and the Rogers Civil Service Commission. He was a member of First Christian Church of Rogers.
He was also an instructor teaching night courses at the Northwest Arkansas Community College.
He was preceded in death by his father, W. H. Bryles; and a brother, Herbert Bryles.
He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Bryles of Hickory Plains; and his sister, Bettye Bryles of Little Rock.
He is also survived by Joann Bryles of Rogers and children, Leslie and Jack Truemper of Little Rock, David and Sandi Bryles of Little Rock, and four grandchildren, John and Leigh Truemper, and Kathryn and Sara Bryles.
The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the care and support shown by the staff of Presbyterian Village Nursing Home. There cannot be enough said for all the care the staff gave to H.L. Bryles or the love shown to him. He will be missed tremendously.
A graveside service for the family will be held in Hickory Plains.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either the Northwest Arkansas Community College Foundation, One College Drive, Bentonville, Ark.. 72712, or the Presbyterian Village Nursing Home, 510 Brookside Dr., Little Rock, Ark. 72205.
Funeral arrangements are by Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe.
